How to Build a Shopify Store in 8 Easy Steps

Are you looking to start an online ecommerce store but don't know where to begin? Look no further! In this blog post, we'll walk you through the basics of setting up a Shopify store. By the end, you'll have all the information you need to get started selling online. So let's get started!

Create a Shopify Account

Create an account. The first step is to create a Shopify account. You can do this by going to www.shopify.com and clicking on the "Create Your Store" button. fill out the required information and click on the "Create Your Store" button again.

Choose your Marketing Plan

Choose your plan. Once you've created your account, you'll be asked to choose a plan. The basic plan is $29/month, and it comes with everything you need to get started. If you think you might need more features down the road, you can always upgrade later.

Buy or Use A Domain

Choose your domain name. The next step is to choose your domain name. This is the address people will use to visit your store (e.g., www.mystorename/com). If you already have a domain name, you can connect it to your Shopify store. If not, you can purchase one through Shopify or another provider such as GoDaddy.

Set Up Shopify Payment

Set up payments. In order to start selling, you need to set up a payment gateway so customers can pay for their orders. Shopify offers over 100 different payment providers like PayPal, Amazon, Shop Pay and more, so you're sure to find one that works for you.

Build your Shopify Theme

Choose your theme. Now it's time to choose how your store will look! Shopify has over 60 different themes to choose from, both free and paid. You can also hire a designer to create a custom theme for your store.

Launch your Shopify Store

At this point, your store is almost ready to launch! All that's left is to add your products and start marketing them . But before we get into that, let's take a quick detour to talk about shipping.

Set up Shipping Rates

Set up shipping rates. You need to let customers know how much they'll need to pay for shipping beforehand so there are no surprises at checkout. To do this, go to “Settings > Shipping” in your Shopify admin, then click “Add Shipping Zone” and enter the relevant information. Remember that shipping rates vary depending on location, weight, and other factors, so be sure to research what rates apply to your situation before setting anything in stone. You can also offer free shipping as an incentive for customers to buy from you. Just bear in mind that free shipping will likely increase your average order value, so make sure you factor that in when setting your prices. And that's it! You're now ready to start selling online.

Start Marketing Your Products

All that's left is to add products and start marketing them. For tips on how to do that, check out our other blog post on website design and the best shopify apps.

Congratulations! You've now built your very own Shopify store complete with products, shipping rates, and more! All that's left is to market your products and start making sales. Thanks for reading and good luck!
